Terms of Service

Welcome to Budget Ninja. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application and web service (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Budget Ninja, you agree to:

  • Be bound by these Terms of Service
  • Comply with our Privacy Policy
  • Be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU)
  • Provide accurate and complete information

2. Description of Service

Budget Ninja provides:

  • Monthly budget planning and tracking
  • Daily expense and income tracking
  • Category customization and templates
  • Budget collaboration and sharing features
  • Data synchronization across devices
  • Export and reporting capabilities

The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
  • Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

5. Your Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to the budget data, notes, and other content you create in the Service (“Your Content”).

5.2 License to Us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

5.3 Responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Content. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of Your Content.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by Budget Ninja and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or harmful components
  • Results from using the Service will be accurate or reliable

Financial Advice Disclaimer: Budget Ninja is a budgeting tool only. We do not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. Consult with qualified professionals for financial decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Budget Ninja shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
  • Service interruptions or data loss
  • Errors or inaccuracies in Your Content or financial calculations
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data (except due to our negligence)

Our total liability shall not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently $0 for free service).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Budget Ninja from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your Content

10. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

  • We will update the “Last Updated” date
  • We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification
  • Continued use constitutes acceptance of the new Terms

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in your jurisdiction.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Account Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to Budget Ninja
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll to the Account section
  4. Tap “Delete Account”
  5. Confirm the deletion

Upon deletion, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account and profile information
  • All budgets, expenses, and planned amounts
  • Category templates and preferences
  • Collaboration relationships and invitations
  • All sessions and authentication data

This action is irreversible. No data is retained after account deletion.
